Practical Applications:

Gatekeeping in Print Media

Goes through the hands of editors.   Information is gathered by those peskey reporters.

People like this control what                      Gathered by people like this

information is told and where

it is placed in our newspapers.

When the information is passed through the editors they use their own personal judgment to decide how worthy the news that was given to them is. Editors can set agendas by putting some articles on the front page and oposing views in the back pages that people may not read. They also edit the articals for content and decide what information is going to be given to the people. As readers we should be aware of this and that some of the information has been edited. All information that is given to us has gone through a gatekeeper and then sent out to the word for us to consume.
